NAIROBI, Kenya: George Wachiuri, CEO of Optiven Limited, the leading real estate company in Kenya, has appointed Smart Africa Media Founder Elvis Mboya as Special Envoy to Namibia.

Mboya’s role is to represent Optiven Limited as its Brand Ambassador and market its projects in Namibia.

Mboya has a combined 15 years experience in Media and Communication in Kenya, Namibia and Southern Africa region.

During that period, he served at the Kenya High Commission in Windhoek as Personal Assistant to the Deputy Ambassador.

He was elected by Kenyans living in Namibia as Secretary-General of the Kenya Welfare Association, a vibrant community composed of significant number of thriving professionals and businesspeople. 

Back in Kenya, he joined Nation Media Group, the leading independent media house in East and Central Africa as Business Daily Journalist, before leaving to venture into entrepreneurship.

Mboya is the Founder and Publisher of Smart Africa Media, a fast growing pan-African online convergence platform that publishes and amplifies pro-development and success stories across Africa and the Diaspora to inspire investment and development.

He is also the Founder and Brand Ambassador of Namibia-Kenya Trade & Investment Conference 2023, which seeks to attract private finance and investment, build links among businesses and investors, and strengthen people-to-people trade between Namibians and Kenyans.

Mboya is an MBA-candidate and an alumni of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and the Young Africa Leadership Institute – Entrepreneurship.
